Check a Kenyan passport application status

Check passport progress through your eCitizen account or the status method published by Immigration.

Use the official Department of Immigration channels to check progress. AGI cannot access your application or confirm whether a passport is ready.

Before you begin

Keep the passport application number or receipt from the official application process.
Use the official eCitizen or Immigration website. Keep your application number for official status checks. Never share passwords, one-time codes or payment PINs with anyone; submit identity documents only through the official service when required.

Open the official Immigration eCitizen serviceSign in using the account used for the application.
Review the application recordOpen the passport application or status area and follow the current instructions displayed by the portal.
Use the published SMS option if appropriateImmigration currently says applicants can send the application number shown on the receipt to 22222. Recheck the official FAQ before using this option.
Escalate if the status is unclearKeep the receipt and application reference, then contact Immigration through the official contact page if the portal does not explain the status.
